I have a Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Avalanche Beacon. It still works but seems to be lacking a lot of technology of the new beacons.
I'll share some info on my current beacon and would be interested to hear what people like about their beacons to help with my research. Thanks!
Access Tracker DTS - It is digital and easy to use with a dial power switch on the back and a simple hold down of the button on the front to switch from receive to transmit/search mode. I have been lucky and have only used my beacon for practice searches. It now has a limited range compared to other beacon's on the market (search width 20 meters). The battery percentage shows in the top screen every time you turn your beacon on. Supposedly the beacon will transmit for over 200 hours on 3 AAA batteries. There is 5 Led light direction indicators and a screen showing distance to other beacon. The search is along an arc to the target transceiver.
